Project Brief
Sitting atop their own 250 acre mini mountain in Morganton NC, the house is situated with expansive westerly mountain views. This large family home built to support a young and growing family. The family wanted a grand but highly functional kitchen and great room where the family could gather on a daily basis but also enough room for entertaining.
The Project details
In order to achieve the timeless look and feel the client was driving toward, we chose to build this project in inset style. Inset style cabinetry first became popular in the late 1700’s and has been the go to choice for timeless style and feel.
The layout of the kitchen drove the decision of color placement. White Oak stained Biscotto on the bases and talls with the upper cabinets painted Snowbound.

– Spice pull out racks flanking each side of the cooktop
– Large double drawer under the cooktop for pots
The expansive island with large custom range hood becomes the center piece of the kitchen design. The island features large amounts of storage and a double 30 qt waste and recycle pull-out. Decorative corbels round out the overall look and feel of the island and plenty of seating is provided at the island
Additional rooms in the project consisted of the great room with cabinets flanking the fireplace. The color scheme was carried from the kitchen in tot great room. Upper bookshelves took advantage of dimmable LED back lighting to add a nice touch.
Finally, the master bathroom completed in the same white oak inset cabinetry. Enough room for the owners to comfortably have their own space. Bathroom vanity features include in drawer power centers to keep everyday items put away.
