Project Brief
Set in the Champion Hills area of Hendersonville NC, this 3500 square foot home built in 1998 was due for a major kitchen update. The homeowners had the original kitchen opened up to the living room which allowed our designers to showcase a custom island centerpiece. The results are beautiful update that will service the family for decades to come
Project Details
The homeowners decided at the onset of this project they wanted a true custom builder to complete the cabinet build as they wanted specific features and options. Attention to detail, flow and functionality were top of the list.
Form and fit was extremely important. The inset nature of the cabinets allowed us to source inset appliances fr a true seamless look.
Furniture details make the difference in the look and feel of this kitchen.
Copious Storage
This kitchen features abundant storage at the proper location during use. The tall pantry cabinets flanking the fridge and next to the oven each have four roll trays for food storage. Oven cabinet also provides a tray divider space above for storage of cooking and baking trays. Door above the fridge and pantry cabinets are flip up for easy access to seasonal stored items.
Island Centerpiece
With the opening up of the wall between the kitchen and living allowed for a custom island centerpiece which added not only style, but functionality and more seating. The customer chose Alder for the island which turned out beautiful in the Castle Brown stain color. Island features custom column ends which allows for additional seating, double trash and recycle pull out and 12″ deep storage on the seating side of the island.
Drawers galore
Many modern designs are featuring far less doors in the lower cabinets and primarily drawers and this kitchen is no exception. The owners now have plenty of easy to access drawer storage along the cooking wall in their kitchen. All drawer slides can carry 150 pounds per drawer so there is no worries storing heavy cast iron cookware.
Symmetry, timeless and elegant design and overall flow were the main themes. From the custom built range hood, seamless inset appliance install and inset cabinet design this kitchen will never loose its appeal or be out of style.
