Project Brief
Perched on the side of a mountain in Mills River NC, this mountain retreat second home is a relatively recent build in which the owners wanted to bring a new style to the kitchen and pantries. The surrounding lush mountain landscape of the home dictated the use of rich color and natural white oak.
Project Details
This project was a joy to design and build as the homeowners were very open to design ideas and layouts. The prime concern the homeowner made clear was his requirement of symmetry. The design team was able to explore new color combinations and color placement throughout the project.
The marriage of white oak with biscotti stain and the rich tones of the retreat paint color really make a bold statement in this kitchen. Bold yet cozy and inviting

All exposed and open cabinetry in the kitchen butlers pantry and food pantry have oak interiors with Biscotti stain. This brings richness and unexpected feature to this cabinet build. Exposed oak drawers and oak backs of the pantry upper cabinets bring interest.
